Project Thursday: Planes
Tuesday afternoon we (my two kids, my mom and I), went to meet my husband for lunch before heading out to get groceries. We had the opportunity to head over to the AMC Museum, have lunch at one of their picnic tables outside, and go see planes afterwards. Since the weather is warming up we're finally able to get out and start doing more outside; which we're all thankful for. Anyway, I had meant to bring my camera with me and forgot it in the rush of trying to get us all out the door in time to meet my husband. After lunch I ended up borrowing his camera to take these photos. It was a beautiful day, and I couldn't resist taking these images. I have taken photos of the aircraft there before, but nothing in an "artistic" manner. It was sort of more documentary style than anything. I decided to have some fun and take the photos the way I would if I were taking them for a calendar or something. I think they came out pretty good.
If you're interested in the technical side of it I'll get into that a little bit. The images were shot with the Canon 7D on manual with a 16-35mm lens. The settings for the image on the left was: ISO 200, 27mm, f/7.1 and 1/250. The image on the right was: ISO 200, 35mm, f/7.1 and 1/250. Both images were retouched in Photoshop CC with some added filters including a vintage matte look. The image on the right was also retouched a bit in Lightroom 5 to rotate the image slightly.
