Remembering 9/11 {Light Painting Photography}
Thirteen years ago was the terrorist attack on the towers in New York City and a plane crash that changed America forever. The day was devastating and shook everyone to their core. It was unfathomable that someone could hurt and kill so many innocent people. There were many families that had their world completely shaken, and many citizens that wanted to fight back. This was something that should not go unpunished. Talk of war was all over the news, and once it finally happened there were a lot of people who joined the military to stand up against the people who had done this to us.
Now, here we are today, thirteen years later. There are still so many things going on in the world. We have pulled out of Iraq, and now we are trying to decide how to deal with ISIS. Not only did America change on 9/11, the whole world did. Terrorist attacks are everywhere, and even today there are still American soldiers coming through Dover AFB to be sent home to their families for burial that were victims of roadside bombings, etc. Osama Bin Laden might be gone, but things have not settled down. What is going on is still very real, and families of American soldiers feel it every day. Our community service people such as firemen and police feel it when something tragic happens in their area. We are all reminded of what happened on 11 September 2001 with different things going on in the news either locally, nationally or globally.
I wanted to take some time to remember the ones who were lost, those who suffered, the firefighters, police and our military. September 11th will always mean something to me. I will always remember that day clearly, and how it changed me. I'm proud to be an American, and am more patriotic than I ever was after that day 13 years ago. I'm thankful for all our service members, both in the military and in our community as civilians. I will never forget those who lost their lives and the families that suffered, nor will I forget those who survived such a terrible tragedy. I hope that everyone else feels the same as I do. All who have been affected by 9/11, you are always in my thoughts and prayers.
