It's Time For Some VooDoo | Time Lapse | Dover, Delaware

Holy Planes Batman!

I know, I know! We've been doing a lot with aircraft here lately, and it's not likely to end any time soon. We do have some other projects that we're almost ready to share that are not aircraft related, so bare tight. We just really like aviation, and there's a lot of projects we've been working on recently that involves them.

Time Lapse Time

On occasion, we like to make time lapse videos. This particular one that features the F-101 VooDoo was taken not too long ago. It wasn't really planned, but it was beautiful out and hard to resist. My husband took his class down to the AMC Museum to work with them on a new lesson. Since he always has his camera with him for opportunities such as this, he set it up on his tripod and left to teach his class while the camera did its thing. This short video is what came of it. You can see a couple jets fly by, and the clouds were gorgeous that afternoon.

Some Technical Stuff

This time lapse was shot with my husband's Canon 7D. Unfortunately, it's not a full frame camera, and we haven't had the money to invest in another full frame camera yet. Hopefully we will be able to do that sometime next year. Until then, we have the 7D and my 5D Mark III.

Something we have been experimenting with is the use of Magic Lantern on our cameras. We haven't really used it much for video, but my husband uses it a good deal for time lapses. This time lapse was shot using Magic Lantern. We have been leery of using Magic Lantern on our cameras, but after a good deal of research and talking to others who use it, we found that we will give it a shot. If you're a photographer, this is something you should look into. I'm by no means saying that you should use it, but I do advise you to check it out and weigh the pros and cons for yourself.
