What happens when you load the Jeep up with camera gear and spontaneously take a trip?
Exploration
This past Sunday we wanted to get out of the house for a while, but we didn't know what we wanted to do. On a whim, we decided just to drive up around North Shore. When we made that decision, we ended up deciding to stop at Sharks Cove to have some fun with the kids and take photos. We hadn't been there yet, but we have been told it's a place to check out. When we got there, we parked a bit away and had to walk. Our daughter expected to get out of the Jeep and see the beach right there. She was disappointed until she finally got to the beach. Since it was Sunday, the water and beach were packed. There is a rental shop nearby, so a lot of people had rented snorkeling gear and were out in the water snorkeling. It definitely seems like a great place to do it. Anyway, we're always up for an adventure. We didn't know what to expect and took a chance on Sharks Cove hoping to come out of the trip with something good. We had to wait until nearly sunset before we were able to get something of decent quality. We are always willing to wait. Plus it gives us time to spend with the kids doing things they want to do before we get to our "work".
What's With All The Panoramas?
Yes, the photo of Sharks Cove above is another panorama. It's actually a total of 13 images stitched together in photoshop. The end result is a photo that is 68 megapixels. If we were to print this image at full resolution it would be 44 inches long and 17 inches wide. We can print it much larger than this, and the resolution would drop some, but the photo would still look amazing.
We've started doing more panoramas because they're fun. It's a pretty simple reason isn't it? Honestly, it's fun and it also gives you a better perspective of the things we see. Regular photos don't always convey the whole picture, and panoramas allow us to show you more than a single image would. We like having fun with our work, and if it means we get to show you more of what we see then we're going to do it.
Up Next...
We have some more awesomeness coming your way soon. We did a time-lapse while we were out there, so we're going to get on working it soon. There are also more photos to come. They might not show up on the blog, so watch for them on our Instagram and Facebook.
Also, the photo above is available in our Fine Art Store. All of the income that we get from the Fine Art Store allows us to keep bringing these beautiful images to you and lets us keep doing what we love. We appreciate all of your support. Mahalo!
