When Friends Visit
Fun Times
Before we moved to Hawaii, everyone we talked to were so excited for us and this new adventure we had ahead. While we didn't know what was in store for us, we knew that Hawaii would be a turning point for our business. We would be going from Delaware on the east coast down to an island in the middle of the Pacific. Neither of us had ever been to a tropical island before, and of course you could imagine all the plans it took moving all our things out here. However, we offered for friends and family to come visit us.
After being in Hawaii for nearly a year, a photographer friend of ours has come to visit. He takes a lot of photos around New York, but he travels around the U.S. taking photos as well as the occasional trip to another country. Our friend is John Fischer of John Fischer Photography.
We met John not long before we moved to Hawaii through a mutual friend. It's interesting how you meet new people in life who are interested in the same things you are and the inspiration you can gain from them. Anyway, we invited John to come stay with us in Hawaii sometime, and we have kept in touch through Facebook. We follow each other's work and enjoy conversations about photograhy. Now John is staying in Hawaii and will be with us for a good bit of his trip. We all are making a trip to the Big Island together this coming week, so it'll be fun exploring it with someone else who shares the same passion we have toward taking photos. If you want to see more of John's work you can follow the link above to his website where a good portion of it is displayed from all across the U.S. and Vietnam. You can also check out his Facebook page for more photos and the stories behind them here.
Hawaiian Sunsets
As I said above, our friend is visiting us, so we made an evening trip up to Haleiwa on the North Shore to have dinner together. Naturally we all brought cameras, so after having a nice dinner and talking photography, we made our way to the beach. We all caught some decent sunset photos. The one above is my favorite from the evening. John recently purchased a new lens; which he told me about a few days before his arrival and offered to let me test it out. Of course, I took him up on the offer. I was not disappointed and am now drooling wanting one of my own. The sunset photo above was taken on the borrowed lens. I am so in LOVE with this image. This is Hawaii! This photo is available in the online store if you are interested in purchasing a print! Mahalo!
