Project Thursday: Sparks Fly (Vehicle Light Painting)
A while back ago we were messing around with the concept of having fire behind a vehicle and light painting it as well as the ground around it. We weren't sure how the photo would come out, but wanted to play around with it and decide what settings we would need to work with to achieve the look we were going for. This photo is the product of that test. It's not perfect, but we thought it was worth sharing. This photo was taken in January, so it was pretty cold outside. We were freezing while shooting this, but it's all worth the shot right? The correct answer to that question is yes.
To get technical on this photo, and let you know the bare bones to it we'll share all the details. This photo is a composite of 29 photos shot with a Canon 5D Mark III and a 24-105mmL lens at a focal length of 55mm. They were exposed anywhere from 10-30 second intervals each. They vary to get different effects. We used an f-stop of 4 at an ISO of 100 plus 3 light sources. For the editing of this photo we used Photoshop CC. There was a lot of work that went into this image, but we learned a lot from it. Next time the photo will be perfect.
