Garden Collection: Flowers {Macro Photography}
A little over a week ago we had the opportunity to take some photos in a very beautiful flower garden. It's not very often that we get the chance to do macro photography, and this was a great time to get some images that fall into that category. Macro photography is something else that we love to do, and want to do more of. If you're not sure what macro photography is exactly it is extreme close-up shots of small subjects.
All of the photos in this collection were taken while we were on our trip in Ohio. This flower garden we were in was pretty nice. We haven't had the chance to go to any place like this before, so we're going to look for more places similar to this for future trips. We had a great time, and the kids did too. Both of our kids love flowers, so it was interesting to all of us. Our daughter was in her backpack that she rides in while we're out hiking, and our son was busy walking around seeing what all he could find. He made the great discovery of a small pond with fish in it, so he was excited about that. When we go out to places it's great that both of our kids love nature just like we do. We like going out as a family, and it provides us with a moment to let our kids explore the world around them. So, when we go out to shoot photos we usually have our kids with us; however, we all have fun while we're out.
These photos (except the one with the bee) were taken with our Canon 5D Mark III and a 100mm macro lens. The one with the bee was taken with our Canon 7D with the 70-200mm lens; which isn't exactly macro, but it worked out well in this collection. It was early evening when these pictures were taken, so it was the beginning of "golden hour"; which is the best time to shoot photos. These images will be up for sale through 500px.
