Night Ride: Motorcycle Experiment {Light Painting Photography}

Yesterday a family member rode over on his motorcycle, and we decided this would be a great opportunity to do a light painting of his bike. When it got dark and everyone left, we started working on this image. In between jumping out of the way of cars coming down the street we were finally able to get the photos we needed for the shot.

The lighting from this photo came from a couple different flashlights. Wherever the light hits is what will show up in the photo. These shots are long exposures, so the camera is taking a photo for a set length of time. During that time we are using lights to light up the parts of the photo we want to be seen. This is not just one image, but three that are put together using Photoshop. We choose certain parts of the images that we want to use to create the final version.

If you like this image keep an eye on our blog, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram because we're going to be doing other motorcycle photos throughout the coming months.
