Falls Among The Pines: {Landscape Photography}

Okay, I know that we have posted a lot of photos from our trip to Ohio and I do mean A LOT. Even though the amount of photos we took there is substantial there are still more photos to come; we think it's all well worth it. We like seeing beautiful places, and taking photos helps us preserve the beauty of it forever. That's really what it is. The photographer's need to capture moments in time that are beautiful or filled with love. It becomes passion when you love it, and take the time to learn everything you can to improve your skill to create images that are remarkable.

The photo above is of Cedar Falls in Hocking Hills. Overall, there are several waterfalls in that area, and we couldn't leave without going to this one. The walk to this waterfall is very easy, and follows a stream. Again, we were all out as a family, so both kids loved going here and their favorite part, of course, was throwing rocks in the water. While we were down there we found a snapping turtle in the water. That was the first one our son has seen, and he enjoyed watching it (safely on land).

About the photo itself... It was shot on a Canon 5D Mark III with a 24-105mm lens. The photo is a long exposure, so it was exposed for 10 seconds at f22 with a focal length of 47. As for editing, I edited this image using Photoshop CC 2014.

As usual, we had fun at this location. We didn't have much time there because a storm was coming in, but we were there long enough to get the photos we wanted as well as let the kids play. It was totally worth the trip. There is even a lookout up above to look straight across at the waterfall. We couldn't take any good photos from there because the tree branches didn't allow for an ideal shot with the waterfall. However, it is still a nice view without trying to set up a great shot with a camera.
