A Boy And His Scooter: {Lifestyle Portrait Photography}
I normally don't post photos of my kids, but the other day we were outside playing and I shot this photo of my son dragging his scooter through the grass. At the time I didn't think much would come from the photo, and that it would just be a snapshot I took of him. I got the photo into Lightroom and started messing with it a bit, and liked what I saw. When I finished up the image in Photoshop, the result was this. The color version was nice because I liked that the red scooter drew attention, but when I made it this artistic black and white film photo it really made it pop to me. Obviously the scooter doesn't pop since it's not red anymore, but the black and white film set the mood.
I just had to share this image because it really tells a story. I love to photograph things this way, and is one reason why I like lifestyle photography. I do a lot of posed photos, but I'm definitely interested in lifestyle type shoots where you plan to do something fun with your family that you all enjoy and I'll just take photos of all of you while you do it.
Since I posted a photo of my son and his scooter in black and white I decided to go ahead and share a photo I took of just the scooter by itself. He got this a couple years ago for Christmas from "Santa".
We plan to do more posts similar to this one in the future. It's great to show you who we really are and that we're people... not just a business. We don't want to be like the big corporations out there. Photography and Cinema are personal experiences, and we think we should be personal too. :)
