Days At The State Fair {Night Photography/Street Photography}
I think one of the best summer memories for me would be the county fair. I grew up in Ohio, so pretty much every county had their own fair each year before the Ohio State Fair. I never made it to the state fair, but the Fayette County fair was good enough for me. I loved riding the rides, eating the food, and of course seeing the animals. I was even in 4H for a couple years and showed rabbits. Some of my best memories came from the fair looking for my friends while I was there with my parents, and even going to the fair when I got a bit older with my best friend since kindergarten. The fair always had a nice place where you could get BBQ pork sandwiches, and I remember going to the fair with my mom and grandma one year sitting there under the awning eating with them. The awesome memories of the fair that I have is something I want to pass on to my kids. Some may think the fair isn't that great, but as a kid I loved it. Now I look forward to the joy my kids have when they get to go.
This past Sunday we made our way down to Harrington to have a good time at the Delaware State Fair. With both kids in tow, we knew that some of the stops we would make along the way would be to the animal barns and of course to go see the tractors. We saw a ton of horses, cows, chickens, sheep, and many other animals. We slowly made our way all the way around the fairgrounds to the tractors, and eventually to the Dover Building to check out the exhibits in there. One of my favorite exhibits, of course, would be the photographs. I love seeing other people's work, and there were a lot of really inspiring images there. The trip to the fair isn't complete without eating the very fatty and unhealthy food that's offered. We don't eat like that often, so we splurged and got some of that very tasty fair food. By the time we were finished eating our very greasy meals, the night time setting was in full swing with all the colorful lights on rides, games, and the vendors. It was the perfect opportunity to get some great night shots of the surroundings that make up the fair. We walked around all the vendors and over passed the rides to get some great photos that really sets the mood. Over the whole 5 hours we were there with the little ones we enjoyed the whole visit, and we're looking forward to another trip this week.
Above are a few photos I took Sunday from the fair. You can expect more photos in the near future.
