Hawaiian Summer Sunset - Ko Olina

Ko Olina, Oahu, Hawaii

If you haven't heard of Ko Olina, you're going to hear about it now. Haha! Ko Olina is located on the west side of Oahu and is one of the biggest tourist spots on the island. The Disney resort is there along with Paradise Cove, a beautiful golf course, and then the peaceful and amazing lagoons. I have a confession to make... I have lived a few miles away from Ko Olina for a little over a year and hadn't been there until last weekend. Swimming was on the agenda and we swam with sea turtles for the first time since being in Hawaii. The kids LOVED this and the sea turtles is another big reason why tourists come to Ko Olina. It is a known spot where you are more likely to see sea turtles swimming in the lagoons, so people go there to see them. The turtles are friendly and have no problem swimming right up to you (or mowing you over). Seeing them out there like the reminded me of Pirates of the Carribean where Jack Sparrow supposedly rode back to shore on the backs of a couple sea turtles. Haha.

Sunset at Ko Olina

Since Ko Olina is located on the west side of Oahu, the sun sets on that side. After spending the afternoon swimming with the kids, we left to get dinner and came back for some sunset photos. We missed some of sunset because we didn't get there as early as we wanted to, but we still got some pretty amazing photos. Check them out above and of course, you can see them in high resolution in our Fine Art Gallery where you can also purchase the photos to absolutely love.
