Autumn Fun & Family Time | Fifer Orchard | Personal Interest | Delaware Photographer
A Season Full Of Fun
I've said it a million times, but autumn is my most favorite season. It's more than just the beautiful colors, fun activities, and the quickly approaching holiday season. It's about spending time with family. I love doing these fun activities with my kids. They look forward to going to the pumpkin patch and picking their own pumpkins. What do I get out of it? I get the joy of seeing my kids smile and their excitement over trying to find the biggest pumpkin they can manage carrying to bring home (even if that means I end up carrying it all the vehicle, haha). Not only that, but I enjoy capturing all these smiles, the laughter and the hard effort they put into trying to find the perfect pumpkins. This time of year is full of opportunities to spend time with your family, and this has to be the number one reason why I love this time of year so much.
Field Trip To Fifer's Orchards
Our son is in preschool this year, and the school scheduled a trip to Fifer Orchard. This is where we spent our Monday morning. It was a great opportunity for us to come to the farm, have some fun and spend time together as a family even though it was a school field trip. I have to say that I had been looking forward to this field trip since the beginning of the school year. We had been to Fifer's in the past, but our son had never participated in their Fall Fest. The morning started off with a wagon tour of the farm, followed by picking apples in the orchard, the corn maze and then the other activities that Fall Fest offers to children. Both of our kids had a blast, and since they were having fun we enjoyed ourselves too. Don ran around videoing as much of the activity as possible while I took photos. It was definitely a great morning. I don't think any of us were ready to leave.
The Point
My point through all of this is that we only have a short time when our children are small, and we should enjoy all of our family time together as much as possible. I love looking back on the memories I have of when I went to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin on my elementary school field trips. They are some of my favorite memories. Looking back, I couldn't wait for my son to start building these fun memories for himself. Not only that, but I wanted to capture all of it in images that he can carry with him when he's older. One day, I know he'll appreciate all the photos and videos we took of him. He'll be able to share fun moments from his childhood with his kids. They will be able to see the corn pit their daddy played in during his preschool field trip to Fifer's Orchards. That is something incredible.
Last Day For Fall Fest
If you haven't made it out to Fifer's Orchards yet, I would highly recommend taking your littles ones out to pick their own pumpkin/apple and play at Fall Fest. This coming weekend is the last weekend they will have Fall Fest, so don't miss it! We all had tons of fun and came away with some great photos and video capturing our adventure.
